Visits to the Agency

During his visit to Serbia, Mr. Serge Brammertz, Prosecutor to the Inernational Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, visited the Security-Information Agency on October 8, 2012, together with his associates.

Apart from the fact that this was his tenth visit to the Agency, Mr. Brammertz especially emphacised that cooperation with BIA has been continuously developing over the years, having now reached a very high level, in keeping with the legal procedures and professional standards.

As Mr. Brammertz himself noted, his other objective for the visit was to meet the new leadership of Serbia, i.e. the Security-Information Agency, and he opened several new topics with BIA Director and his associates, which should further upgrade cooperation with the ICTY.

As an integral part of the tasks performed within his competences, on 29 August 2012 the Security-Information Agency Director, together with his associates, had a meeting with Dusan Ignjatovic, the Director of the Office of National Council for Cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for Former Yugoslavia (ICTY).

At the occasion it was emphasised that cooperation of the Office of National Council for Cooperation with ICTY and the Security-Information Agency has thus far been at a high professional level and that cooperation should be continued in the same manner in future.

On 27 August 2012, Security-Information Agency Director had a meeting with his associates, Mr Aleksandar Nikolić - State Secretary at the Ministry of Defence, Mr Dragan Vladisavljević - Military Intelligence Agency Director and Mr Svetko Kovač - Military Security Agency Director.

The necessity for greater coordination in fulfilling vital interests, protection of security of the Republic of Serbia, as well as detection and countering of actions aimed at undermining the Constitutional order of the Republic of Serbia was recognised at the meeting.

August 22, 2012

Following the decision of the Government of the Republic of Serbia made on 3 August 2012 and the appointment of new Director of the Security-Information Agency, in accordance with law, handing over of duties and responsibilities held by the former Director was conducted.

Within their activities thus far, the Agency has been visited by the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Mr Ivica Dačić, as well as by the First Deputy Prime Minister in charge of defence, security, anti-corruption and countering crime and Minister of Defence, Mr Aleksandar Vučić.

The Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, Mr Rodoljub Šabić, and the Ombudsman, Mr Saša Janković, paid a working visit to the BIA on 13 August 2012, which the public was adequately informed of in due time.

Additionally, on 14 August 2012, the Board Meeting of the Security-Information Agency was held, where the heads of core organisational units informed the Director about current affairs and topical questions, from the viewpoint of their competent field.

Ceremonial part of The Board Meeting was attended by the former Director of the Agency, Mr Saša Vukadinović.
